It is with great enthusiasm and excitement that American Airlines/American Eagle will again participate as an Official Race Series Partner of the 2008 Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure Race Series. By sponsoring Susan G. Komen for the Cure and by being a member of its Million Dollar Council since 1992, American Airlines has made a commitment to support the fight against breast cancer. Over twelve years ago when American became a National Series Sponsor and was named Komen’s official carrier; there were less than 50 Races across the country. Because Komen for the Cure continues to be the primary fund-raising and awareness source for Komen, it is gratifying to note the significant growth of the Race Series. In 2001, more than one million runners and walkers participated in the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure Series. American Airlines is proud of its association with Susan G. Komen for the Cure, and we look forward to supporting Komen’s continued growth and mission to fight breast cancer by raising awareness, advancing breast cancer research, education, screening and treatment.
The many employee groups of American Airlines/American Eagle have embraced the company’s commitment and support of Komen for the Cure. Each year our employees support and participate in many Races across the country.
